Well seems I’m working on a better late than never Moro this with the blog! Time is slipping away. I can’t believe we are into the first week of December!
Leaders:
When we have a storm day our leader rotation stays the same. But the person who was supposed to have their leader day on the storm day gets to have theirs the first day back to school as well as the person who has it that day. For example, if Rylan was Wednesday and it was a storm, he can bring it his show and tell Thursday. Alexa who has show and tell Thursday will bring hers too. We will have two leaders and two show and tells that day. This way no one misses their day!! Also if they forget one day, they can bring it the next day. This is an important day for the children and they don’t like to miss it 😊
Literacy:
I will send home the Fundations work today, the printer was not working on Monday.
We have been working really hard on hearing beginning sounds of words. Fundations this week talks about hearing sounds at the end of words. This is a skill that usually comes together for the students closer to the end of the year. Saying this it doesn’t hurt to talk about the ending sounds and encouraging the children’s to hear them.
Numeracy:
We have begun talking about patterns! Soon that is all you will hear about. The children will be noticing them everywhere!! We will recognize patterns, create them, build them and extend them. We will mostly be working on an AB pattern (2 attributes) but will also talk about more challenging patterns ABC, ABB or AAB. Patterns are the foundation for all other numeracy skills.
Other news:
We have no school on Friday. Our last day before Christmas break is Friday December 20 and our first day back is Monday January 6.
Our concert will be December 10th with a storm day of December 13
Have a good week
