Friday May 1

Here we are at May 1st!! It’s hard to believe! These last two months of school are some of my favourite months in the classroom (and the hardest for several reasons!). I usually do a hockey playoff math unit, we do some other fun things that we will learn about next week, and lots of other fun units to finish off the school year.  I am sad to not be able to do these units as I usually do but am adapting them to suit online learning!

I will have a couple of surprises in the next week for the children so stay tuned!

Here are my videos for today:

  1. Fundations:
  • Letter Review: 5 letters D, R, S, E, C
  • Tapping: tax, fix, mix, fox, wax
  1.  Story: Alice the Fairy (character, setting and events)
  2. Writing: beginning sounds: Fold your paper into 4 squares. Write the beginning sound of the picture in each square. Draw another thing that begins with the same sound and write the word by tapping out the sounds you hear and writing them down.
  3. Math: Take a bird walk! How many birds did you see?  Were there groups of birds?  How many in each group?  Did the birds have a pattern on them?  What was the most birds you saw? What was the least birds you saw? Was there a certain kind of bird that you saw more than others?
  4. Art: Build an outdoor community with broken tree branches, grass and moss for your trucks, animals or figures.  I’ll attach a picture of Bria’s below 🙂
  5. Reading: Raz-Kids, Tumble Books, Epic Books or a book from home. Take your reading outside today!
  6. Language 4 Vous: Episode 2 Episode 2 part 2
