Good morning! Ugh, time change!! It’s lovely to have daylight in the evenings but the mornings…
In kindergarten this week we are planning a PJ day on Thursday. The children can wear Pajamas to school and take a small stuffed toy.
On Friday it is green day for our spirit days. If you’d like to send in a small donation that would be great!!
Next week is March Break! There is no school all week. I am looking forward to the break to spend time with my children but it’s also the week our puppies head to their new homes. I’m excited and sad at the same time!
Literacy:
We are continuing to work on tapping words. The children will begin to write the sounds that they hear in a word. We are also working on listening to a story and answering questions. This week in Fundations they will receive some Trick Words. We call them Trick Words because they have to be memorized and can’t be tapped out. Our first words are words we already have: the, a (pronounced with the u sound).
Social Studies:
We are going to begin talking about Wants and Needs. This is always interesting to see what the children know about this topic, haha! At this age it’s hard to understand the difference.
Numeracy:
We continue to work on counting and breaking numbers apart.
Have a good week!

We will be visiting the book fair on Wednesday March 4 at 11: am. If you would like your child to purchase a book, send in some money. This is not necessary but all sales go toward purchasing new materials for our school library.
I will send Fundations homework home tomorrow.

The email is back up and running so feel free to contact me through my school account. As usual if you need me through the day it’s best to call the office as I don’t always get a chance to check my email throughout the day

Good morning parents!
Our school system has been down all weekend, which means our school email is not working. If you need to reach me for schedule and bus changes, please call the school directly. If you need to contact me for any other reason, you can message me at my personal email. Like my school email, this is not the best way to make contact for urgent messages like bus changes.

We have parent teacher interviews this week! I look forward to meeting with you. If you have not signed up, please message me and send up a time or call after school.
Literacy:
We will be returning to Fundations this week. We are beginning unit 3. This unit will continue tapping and will build on those skills. As usual, this skill was not a high scoring area on the last assessment. Please continue work with your child at home on tapping.
We are also working on writing a book as a class. The children will have opportunity to write their own books as well.
Numeracy:
We are continuing to work on many skills in math. We are counting, building sets and breaking them apart up to 10.
Have a good week!
