Hey everyone!
I decided since we usually read our Magic Treehouse book at the end of each day, that I will read a chapter a day and put it on this page.
As I was reading, I kept thinking about reading to the children in person. When it gets to the picture page, I can guarantee at least one person yells out “I can’t see the picture!” You can tell when I thought about that because I kind of chuckled 😁. The reason they can’t see the page is either:
1) they are rolling around not looking
2) talking to a friend or
3) day dreaming while listening
Lol, boy I miss them!! The video is approximately 7 minutes long 😊

Hey parents, one more thing…so sorry!
Could you please start collecting milk caps, juice caps, bread ties and recyclables like these:
They can be used for many things such as counting, patterns, part-part-whole, problem solving and building sets!
Thanks!

Hello parents!
It’s been great hearing from most of you! If you haven’t sent an email to me, please do so as I want to make sure everyone is receiving the messages on our blog. This and email will be the only ways that I will be communicating with you until we get back to school.
Beginning next week teachers will be providing some learning for your children. I will post each morning before 9am the days work. It will be no more than 30 minutes for the day. There maybe a small amount of technology time, but most will be activities to do together, some independent work for your child and something fun. Next week will also be a transition week for us so it will be experimenting with the best methods for the best outcome for your child.
I do want to stress that we are all struggling in our own ways with this situation so please be kind to yourself and if you cannot do what is provided to you, do what you can to stay healthy and well. I know as a parent working from home with 3 children who need to be home schooled, things don’t always go smoothly. This work for the children is important but everyone’s mental health is just as important. If you need to pass on the work or adapt it to suit your family, then do that. Your child will be fine in the long run 😊
For school wide information, please be looking at the Glen Stewart Primary homepage. There you will find information about what is happening, a message to the students from the teachers and a daily drawing club from Mr.Sheehan. https://glenstewartprimary.wordpress.com
Also, this is a difficult time for families financially as lots of people have been laid off from work or have been reduced to 1 income. If you are experiencing food insecurities and need some support, please call SUPPORTS FOR FAMILIES line at 902-368-5155 or email supportforfamilies@edu.pe.ca
They will deliver healthy, home cooked meals to your house two days a week. You can find them on Facebook as week.
My final comment for today, I posted some videos on Trick Word games on a separate blog page. The videos show how to play the games. It was great to watch because it reminded me of school, the busy chaos in the background and hearing the kids voices ❤️. I tried putting them up a few months ago but they never published. This years blog is not cooperating for me. I set it up different and my phone isn’t compatible with the design.
I am also going to start reading Magic Treehouse each day as it was a favourite part of the children’s routine. I posted one chapter yesterday in a separate blog page for the children to see. I’ll add another reading today.
If you need anything or have any questions please let me know.
Take care of yourselves and your family,
Kelley
